This Telescopic Downdraft System is really a great option to a stove hood vent if you do not have the room for one. It works well when you need it and is hidden when you don't and looks great with the GE induction cook top.

My friends are all awed when show this off in conjunction with the induction cook-top. COOL! Where did you find this? Yet, in use, it's noisy and the controls are barely usable. (read bargain basement) The detached touch pad requires a strong touch to activate it - the speed adjustments are not intuitive. It was disappointing when contrasted to the excellent controls on the stovetop. Could I suggest putting a glass capacitive panel (black glass) on the top of the vent assembly?

It is what I wanted after doing on-line research, and having previous experience with a GE counter updraft fan. I didn't want to drill any holes in my new counter/island cabinet to place the remote, so I had it attached inside the top drawer under the GE gas cooktop.
