Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future.
Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies.
It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.
Appliances
can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new
appliances
should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

I am enjoying this cooktop. I have been very careful with it since other reviews said it scratched easily. I have not had any issues thus far. One knob does turn on opposite of the other- have to pay attention. I have not found that having 5 burners were necessary. Would probably just go with 4 like I had before if I had it to do over again. Seems to take a lot longer to heat up what I am cooking, but not a problem.

I bought this to replace a 15 year old, 4 burner version. I love the 5 burners and the ability to vary the heat distribution based in pan size. Once thing that could be vetted is the knob control visuals. Hard to see.

This cooktop heats quickly and gets hotter than other brands I have owned. I'm only giving it 2 stars because of the wobbly knobs that feel like they are going to break any day, and the inconsistent controls that force you to "read" the cooktop every time you use the front burners. The 3 back burner controls are no problem. They all operate in the same direction, meaning High is in the 7 o-clock position and you turn the knob to the right to go to Low, at the 5 o'clock position. This is backwards (most cooktop knobs rotate to the right to get hotter) but you can get used to this. The real issue is the controls for the 2 front burners. They are totally opposite of each other in terms of the dual burner function and which way you rotate them to go hotter!!! Why on earth would KitchenAid do this??? Zoom in on the picture of the controls to see what I'm talking about. The bottom line is you have read the controls every time you turn on (or adjust) one of the front burners.

Bought this during my kitchen remodel and love it. I would have given it a 5-star if the glass top didn't scratch so easily. But I've learned to wipe off both the cooktop and the bottom of my pans before putting them on the cooktop
