17K BTU Professional Burner
Provides the ability to use high-temperature cooking methods such as searing, stir-frying, and wok cooking as well as low temperatures suitable for simmering.
3-Speed Fan Control
Can be precisely matched to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air.
Convertible to Duct-Free Ventilation
Allows a downdraft cooktop to be placed nearly anywhere in the kitchen using a duct-free conversion kit (not included). This filters and recirculates the air without running ductwork, ideal for kitchens with installation restrictions or ducting limitations.
Electronic Ignition and Automatic Re-Ignition

Full-Width Cast-Iron Grates
Enhance the beautiful look of the cooktop and allow easy movement of cookware around the entire cooking surface.

- Downdraft Ventilation - Integrates the ventilation system into the cooking surface so that a separate hood is not needed. Smoke and odors can be removed and taken outside or filtered and recirculated inside. A duct-free kit is available for purchase separately.
- 5K BTU Even-Heat Simmer Burner - A diffuser plate allows more control of the flame at the lowest setting, for more precise simmering and melting.
- 300 CFM Exhaust Rating - Handles the venting requirements of high temperature cooking techniques like pan searing and stir-frying.
- 15K BTU Professional Burner - Reaches the high temperatures required to quickly get liquids to a boil and for high-temperature cooking techniques including getting a great sear on meat.
- Melt Cap - Melt chocolate or butter, simmer delicate sauces, or poach eggs on a low-power burner, thanks to a wider burner cap that shields and diffuses the flame to produce a gentler, low-power heat.
- Stainless Steel Knobs - Enhance the look of the cooktop surface with sturdy construction that adds to their premium feel.

Great cook top! Love the down draft, however be aware that it also sucks the heat towards it. You'll need to move your pan toward the center for even heat

Good replacement

After 18 years of service it was time to replace all the kitchen appliances. Due to the down draft feature we were left with only 2 choices, and KitcheAid was chosen. This cooktop is a modern replacement to our older unit. Its design lends to easier cleanup, but other than that there is little difference in the "function" of the unit. Still it looks good and fires up quickly.

I Love This Cooktop!
Nantuc
10/1/2019
We purchased this cooktop about a month ago to replace a Jenn Aire downdraft that was about 12 years old. Why do I love this cooktop compared to my old one? The variety of size of burners is fantastic! The arrangement of the sizes on the cooktop is also great. Our previous one had a supersize in the bottom right, which seemed to get the most use because of the placement. Unfortunately, it also was way to hot for most simmers. The burner placement on this top is much more conducive to ease of cooking from simmers to boiling.
The grate height is good and the weight of the grates is wonderful. Unlike our old one, I think the appearance of these grates will hold up well.
The fan has 3 levels and the strength is good and strong. Cleaning the filter is very easy.
The knobs are stylish and substantial. They don't feel thin and cheap at all. Each burner lights rapidly and the electronic ignition stops clicking as soon as the burner lights. I hope this continues, as the ignition clicking was also an issue with our previous cooktop.
Finally, cleaning the cooktop has been a breeze. I couldn't be more pleased.
We purchased this cooktop after reviewing downdraft cooktops on line. We visited Menards and Home Depot and neither had this cooktop on display, so we actually purchased it without seeing the unit. It is really an attractive cooktop! We did have the cooktop installed by a professional, but installation was quick and easily integrated with the existing downdraft exhaust and gas piping.
All I can say is Wow! I love this cooktop and would highly recommend it!

I was very happy with my range top until I noticed that the decals were coming off. each time I clean there is less of the decal indicating the flame height and the direction for off and on. Very disappointed. I am looking for replacement for these decals and hoping that KitchenAid can help me with this. At this point I would be hesitant to recommend this product to others for the simple reason that at this price point this type of issue should not exist.

Love - hate relationship

I have had my cooktop now for 12 months. I love the way it looks and the way it looks.. however I truly hate the stainless steel. I am constantly finding new scratches. From the day we bought it, I find that the least little movement of the grate can leave a mar. I am very conscious of continually cleaning it for fear that any "little" spill will leave a discoloration. I would never recommend this stainless steel cooktop... not for it's functionality (which may I say is wonderful) but for the fact that you have to be overly vigilant that nothing touches the stainless steel. ONLY use stainless steel wipes or spray with a very soft cloth. This cooktop is just too much trouble.

We remodeled our kitchen in April, and I replaced my Jenn-Air smooth top with this gas cooktop, and I love it!! It looks great in my black granite island. It is very easy to clean and operate. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because, I have some scratches on the stainless in the back of the unit. I think it is because I lifted the cast iron burners up instead of taking them off completely when I cleaned the unit.

I purchased my 30" 4 burner gas downdraft cooktop a month ago and have found it to be easy to use, easy to control the temp and I'm very happy. I gave it 4 starts because the control knobs are a little to close to the burners for me. I wish they were at the bottom. Overall, I'm very happy.

Knobs melt when exposed to heat
JP White
5/23/2019
I've had this cooktop for only three weeks and the top of one of the knobs, that appear to be steel, but are actually some kind of a Veneer, melted when a hot plate was placed on top of it. I get you that you should not place hot things on the knobs but seams like a pretty common occurrence considering they are 2 inches from cook top. Poor design!

Although we've had this cooktop for less than a month, early performance is great and the appliance is performing as advertised. We like the variety of burners and especially appreciate the downdraft feature which works exceptionally well for a model of this design. The finish is relatively easy to keep clean as well. The only thing I'd change would be to make the knobs out of metal instead of plastic. That would give them a more professional feel as well as avoid the chance that a hot pan/pot might mar them if inadvertently placed atop the right side of this cooktop.

I bought this one month ago. Originally had a GE cooktop ordered, but appliance store said there was a problem and it would be 6-8 weeks late in arriving. Dealer suggested KitchenAid cooktop instead, and I am so glad I got this one instead of the GE. Good looking cooktop, easy to clean, excellent heat/performance, excellent ignition, high quality materials, and you can fit four large pans at once on the burners .

I bought this two weeks ago, replacing a 17-year old GE Profile. The range of burner temperatures offers two much higher (17K and 15K), one medium (10.5K) and one low (5K) temperatures. In addition, there is an extra burner top for the low burner which is useful for melting chocolate or cheese without scorching. I wish that there were two burners with the same temperature so I could use my cast iron griddle across two burners.
One very minor comment is that the diagram of the cooktop in the operating manual is not correct. The picture of the front right burner and left rear burners appear to be reversed, but the description is actually correct.

We bought this cooktop to replace an electric cooktop in a home we just recently purchased. We are extremely pleased with our choice. It has a very smooth easy lighting mechanism and we just love how you can slide pots and pans from one burner to the next over the downdraft area. It has a nice variety of burners for all of our cooking needs. I would definitely recommend this cooktop.

We purchased an electric glass cooktop, it did not cook properly. No simmer, everything boiled over and it was difficult to clean. We bit the bullet and ran a gas line and decided on a kitchenaid gas cooktop. We couldn't have made a better choice! You can slide pans from burner to burner, its easy to clean and you can melt, simmer or boil. Its easy to clean and the downdraft works great!

Have only had this installed for a short time but seems to be just what I wanted. Came short a package of screws but customer service quickly shipped them to me. Replaced a jenn Aire electric down draft cook top with the Kitchenaid and there is no comparison! The exhaust is extremely quiet and it actually works! Since I had to go to the expense of running a new gas line I wanted the cooktop to be worth while and Kitchenaid came through great! There is a problem with the exhaust effecting the burners on low but I'm confident it will be worked out. Great product!

We purchased about a month ago to replace a Jenn Air. The Jenn air had very small burners since the unit had a large downdraft piece right in the middle of the stove. Our new Kitchenaid fits in the same space but allows us to use large pots and pans because the downdraft is incorporated in with the burners. A huge difference when you have several things cooking at the same time. I also like the controls being on the side and not in the middle if you are turning off or on while cooking.
